Airman air compressor rental range: compare CFM, pressure and the supplied package

Kyusen's rental catalogue lists five Airman portable compressor models. Three listings publish flow and pressure together. Use this range guide to shortlist a documented model, then confirm the actual unit, tool requirement and daily, weekly or monthly package with Kyusen in Puchong.

Planning a project?

Share the job, location and dates. Add the hire period if renting.

You can enquire before choosing a model. Technical details can follow.

Choose where to start your rental enquiry

Use the details you have; missing specifications can be identified before a model is proposed:

  1. You know the job but not the air demand: begin with the portable compressor selection brief. Attach tool manuals or a process description when available.
  2. You have flow and pressure figures: use the FAD comparison below, keeping units, rating basis and required pressure together. Open an exact-model page for its configuration and quotation checks.
  3. You have treatment requirements: use the aftercooler enquiry checklist to describe the required temperature, moisture and contaminant limits.

Ready to discuss dates? Start a compressor rental enquiry with the job, location, period and quantity. You do not need to select a model first.

Start with the rental-listed models

Kyusen’s Airman rental category lists PDS175S, PDS185S, PDS390S-4B1, PDS655S-4B2 and PDS750S-4B1. These are named rental-enquiry options, rather than a count of machines available today. Ask which actual unit can be supplied for your dates and request its nameplate, condition photographs and written package.

The PDS175S and PDS185S listings had no published flow/pressure description at the recorded source check. Their model names do not establish 175CFM or 185CFM performance. Request a model-suffix-specific data sheet instead of borrowing specifications from another generation of Airman equipment.

Compare free air delivery at the stated pressure

The three detailed rental listings use free air delivery (FAD). Read flow and operating pressure on the same row. The following CFM figures are approximate conversions of the published m³/min values, not an additional manufacturer rating.

Rental-listed modelPublished FADApproximate CFM equivalentPublished rated pressure
PDS175SNot publishedNot establishedNot published
PDS185SNot publishedNot establishedNot published
PDS390S-4B111.0m³/min≈389CFM7.1kg/cm² [102PSIG] [700kPa]
PDS655S-4B218.5m³/min≈653CFM7.1kg/cm² [102PSIG] [700kPa]
PDS750S-4B121.2m³/min≈749CFM0.7MPa [7.14kgf/cm²] [102psi]

The operating points come from the PDS390S, PDS655S and PDS750S rental specifications. Their pressure columns are approximately the same class: 700kPa is 0.7MPa, or about 7bar. Published pressure-unit rounding is retained. A higher flow row does not mean a higher-pressure compressor.

Using the NIST volume conversion, m³/min × 35.31467 ≈ ft³/min. Rounded results are 389, 653 and 749CFM. This only changes the volume unit. It does not change the FAD reference conditions, establish SCFM/ACFM or prove flow arriving at the tool. The catalogue does not state an inlet/reference condition or test standard; ask for that rating basis when comparing proposals. Flow terminology

Decide what needs clarification before choosing a larger machine:

  • More flow: compare the documented PDS390S-4B1, PDS655S-4B2 and PDS750S-4B1 at their stated pressure, then have the tool schedule assessed.
  • Higher working pressure: these rows share approximately the same pressure class. Send the required pressure in a compressor enquiry; choosing the highest-flow row does not resolve a higher-pressure requirement.
  • A specified air quality: ask for the treatment package separately. The regular portable-series comparison does not establish that an aftercooler, dryer or filters are included.

Connect the range to the job requirement

Use the portable compressor selection worksheet to record each tool’s exact model, manual, air consumption, pressure and simultaneous-use pattern. Then compare that requirement with the proposed compressor’s documented operating point. Engine power, outlet count and the model number cannot replace this assessment.

Show the distribution layout: hose lengths, branches, couplings and where tools operate. Ask what pressure and usable flow the proposed arrangement supports at the working equipment. A catalogue row is a shortlist reference, not a promise that one machine will operate a fixed number of tools on every site.

Specify treatment and accessories separately

Kyusen’s wider catalogue also has aftercooler, dry-air and high-pressure families. A family name does not confirm that a particular treatment unit is available for hire or included with a regular portable-series rental. Describe the required air quality, process limits and pressure before asking for the treatment package.

The aftercooler guide explains why cooling, condensate separation and drying answer different questions. Ask the quotation to identify each supplied component, its operating limits, hose/coupling compatibility and responsibility for drainage or maintenance. Keep air tools and accessories as named lines in the scope. Discuss the required compressor and treatment package before treating a catalogue family name as a supplied configuration.

Check transport mass and dimensions before delivery

PDS390S lists 1,825kg dry and 2,040kg wet mass; PDS655S lists 2,885kg dry and 3,335kg wet. PDS750S uses a different label: 2,950kg dry and 3,300kg operating. Keep the label with the number and request the actual loading mass. A dry catalogue figure is not a transport arrangement.

The PDS750S listing gives 2070 × 1685 × 2072mm dimensions without explaining the measured configuration. Confirm an actual-unit dimension sheet before planning the gate, delivery vehicle or unloading space. For every model, agree trailer/skid configuration, loading method, access and any permitted towing arrangement separately. Catalogue photographs do not establish towing permission.

Ask for the complete period quotation

Kyusen handles rental enquiries from Puchong, Selangor. Supply the full address in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur or another Malaysian location so transport and availability can be assessed. A quotation for one location does not establish uniform nationwide delivery terms.

Request daily, weekly or monthly rates separately by model, with dates, quantity and daily operating hours. Agree fuel, hoses, tools, treatment, transport, support, minimum hire, deposit and extension/return arrangements in writing. Those items are not automatically included, and this comparison publishes no fixed compressor prices. Use the rental periods and delivery guide to prepare a complete enquiry.

Request the actual rental unit and itemised quotation. If your requirement is purchase instead, use the compressor purchase enquiry information and ask about the offered unit, condition and inspection. The rental range is not a current sale-stock list.

Request the proposed compressor and complete rental scope

Share the job, location and proposed dates first. Add tool manuals, required pressure, simultaneous demand, treatment needs and the hose layout if known. Ask for the actual unit, included package and separate model rate; you can start without a preferred model.
